Guns Of Icarus Online is a free to play steam-punk title that allows players to pilot the iconic Icarus, a ship that has rekindled the dreams of thousands in a worn-torn world where the luxuries of modern technology are a thing of the past. Guns Of Icarus Online will cost $20 to purchase but will not feature a subscription model, the game is totally unique among MMORPG games featuring cooperative piloting of a flying ship, combined with action-based PvP combat.

The game includes 3 playable classes Captain, Gunner and Engineer. Unlike other MMORPG titles, the classes in Guns Of Icarus Online are given set responsibilities, with severe consequences should a player forget their role. A Captains responsibility aboard an Icarus is the piloting of the ship, ensuring that the other classes are able to fulfill their role and know what they're doing. Gunners are the only class that are able to fire the weapons aboard the Icarus ships, the weapons vary from typical cannons to close-quarter flame throwers. The Engineer is responsible for keeping the ship in the sky, repairing damaged weapons, holes in the hull and ensuring the balloon stays afloat. A successful crew will need to communicate effectively, balancing damaging opponents ships whilst maneuvering and repairing their own.

Guns Of Icarus Online will utilize a rare mechanic that will ensure each ship has enough members aboard, players will not be able to have their own ship straight away, instead they will have to earn their Captains license by performing well in battle. This will ensure only the most skilled players earn their own ship, making a Captain a player with vast experience and knowledge, instead of just a default class choice.

The game will feature intense PvP and cooperative game modes, with other modes available such as Deathmatch, Protect the Hull and King of the Hill.
