Gladiatus is a free to play MMORPG based around the lore and mythology of Ancient Rome. The game is developed and published by the veteran MMORPG team at GameForge, the same developers that brought you other popular browser-based MMORPG games such as Hellbreed and Metin 2.

The combat in Gladiatus is mainly text and image based. Players can choose to go on expeditions to explore the game world and they can then choose which enemy they would like to fight. As you defeat one enemy in an area, the next difficulty of enemy unlocks. Players can only fight once every 15 seconds, unless they want to purchase Rubies. As players level they gain access to more monsters, more areas and better equipment.

The game features an in-depth trading and item system. Players are able to purchase a wide variety of items, from food that refills your health, to strong armor and deadly swords. Players can either choose to purchase their items from in-game vendors that restock once a day, or they can choose to purchase items from other players using the Auction House.

Another unique feature in Gladiatusis the job system. Although players can earn gold in many ways, the job system allows them to earn in-game currency without the risks of arena battles or PvP. Players can choose how long they wish to work, depending on the task they choose to do, this allows players to earn gold while they're offline. Different jobs offer different hourly pay, and every job allows the player to take the remainder of the stock at the end of the day.

Gladiatus uses a micro transaction system where players can buy Rubies for real cash. Rubies allow players to participate in more events per day, allowing for more work options, more arena battles or more time exploring the world, fighting monsters and completing dungeons.
