Fly for Fun, also known as Flyff, is a party-oriented grinding MMORPG with a fantasy theme, developed by the Korean company Gala Lab and published by gPotato. It was released in December 2005 and since then its playerbase has been growing in size.

Fly for Fun has lighthearted animated visuals, making the game quite humorous as in the first levels the players will encounter and battle cute creatures. There’s nothing menacing or sinister about the game, so it’s suited for gamers of all ages.

Flyff allows players to have only three characters for each of the eight servers and features limited class choices – only four initial classes and eight secondary classes. Character customization is also very limited, players only having to choose from a few hairstyles and colors.

Class selection will be made later in the game. Everyone gets the beginner class called “Vagrant” until level 15. At level 20, after numerous quests and grinding, players will have the possibility to buy their first mount (brooms, skateboards) and explore the world faster. Flying isn’t an important part of the gameplay, but provides the player a quicker way of transportation and a view from above.

In PvE combat players will find themselves involved in actions which can only be described as grinding. The game has a weak quest system offering no actual satisfaction in completing the objectives which are mostly related to killing and gathering items. The game has some PvP-open servers; players can challenge other players to duels or experience the fun in free-for-all arenas. Also guilds can declare war to another guild participating to “guild wars”.

Overall Fly for Fun is an enjoyable MMORPG capable of attracting players even after several years from its release.
