Edgeworld is a free MMORTS title available on Facebook and now, Google+. The game is unique among Facebook's MMORTS titles as it features real-time combat similar to popular RTS titles such as Shattered Galaxy and Command & Conquer. Set 700 years into the future, the game has a heavy sci-fi feel with its graphics, units and audio effects, creating a space age like world, full of conflict and heated battles.

Combat takes a unique twist in Edgeworld, you train your army in your base from infantry units to mechanical and air units, you then select the base you which to attack that can either be NPC controlled or another players base. Once you've chosen your target your warp gate will activate and you can summon a certain number of troops at the enemy base. Troop placement is fully real-time, allowing you to place slow, strong-armored units at the front and wait for them to engage before you warp in your glass cannon units, each fight requires and lot of attention and tactical awareness which sets this title apart from other RTS titles.

Like most RTS games, resources are vital if you want to expand your base and train a strong army. Edgeworld features 4 different resources you can harvest, Crystal, Gas, Energy and Uranium, each resource is used in separate areas of expansion such as unit training specific resources and building upgrade resources. All resources can be gathered by constructing the appropriate building within your base, upgrading each building to increase your hourly gain, you can also attack other players and NPC bases to steal resources.

The game is available free to play on Facebook and is currently available to those with a Google+ account, it does feature a typical micro transaction system associated with most FB MMORTS titles but players can compete without having to invest money.
