Drift City is unlike the typical orcs, elves and goblins MMO game, it is one of the first and only free to play titles that combines RPG elements with tire burning street racing. The game is delivered using high quality cell-shaded graphics, comical animations and a colorful game world. Players are able to purchase and win new cars and tune them up in the tuning shop, allowing you to totally pimp out your ride.

The game takes place on Mittron Island, a fully mapped city that is available to explore in free roam. Players are not restricted to completing main quests or side quests, they have total control in regards to what they want to do. You can choose to quest or just spend your time exploring Mittron Island challenging racers to duels.

Although the driving in Drift City is very approachable and easy to learn, the game offers a combo system that rewards skilled drivers. If you manage to dodge traffic, perform a perfect drift turn and other maneuvers, your boost gauge will fill up allowing you to have an explosive burst of NoS. This can help in races but it also helps when getting round the city getting to quest givers or driving to the tuning shop.

Drift City offers a number of game modes most of which are standard for a racing game such as basic street racing and timed laps but it also offers more unique ways of racing. Players can participate in Rush Time, a mode which places a Boss HUV on a race track, with the aim to cause enough damage to make it explode. There is also the Undercity race mode that can be compared to typical dungeons in other MMORPG games, players are placed into an instance with a number of objectives such as collecting X amount of items or performing a certain stunt. Every race or mode rewards you with cash and experience points so you can improve your vehicle or buy a new one.
