For adults, serious gamers or strategy enthusiasts this is NOT a game to consider. Coding errors abound, gameplay updates and modifications are implemented without benefit, knowledge, or understanding of the existing coding. The nunber of players, administrators and publishers who have attempted to determine the basic formulas governing the combat system have all failed. Even game administrators are at a loss to explain results and default to one of two explanations, “It’s a bug,” or “Don’t know but troop strategy plays a role.”
Lekool is listed as “publisher,” and claims that the authors and developers of the game, rumoured to be political prisoners held in a re-education camp in China, are unresponsive to de-bugging the game. It is worth noting however, that any “bug” that adversely impacts Lekool’s attempt to monetize the game, is repaired swiftly and surely through frequent “Emergency Maintaince” shutdowns of the servers.
No game is without some merit – and Caesary triumphs in the field of mindless, endless, repetative keyboard operations. As with all grinders, most significant operations take hours of real time, but with Caesary’s unique multi-city, multi building design, these tasks need to be accomplished multi-times. A true joy for any mouse jockey.
The platform does allow for a great deal of customization-but true to form its exectuion is somewhat lacking. Each player is allowed to change their default motto “I love Caesary, Yes I do,” to whatever they would like-keeping in mind that no other player will ever see it as this function doesn’t appear to any other player.
Gameplay is designed to enhance the ability of established, and especially, paying, players. New players can expect endless theft of resources, destruction of cities, and annihilation of their armies. Advanced equipments and buffs are routinely offered for purchase, so for a price one can invest enough of a PayPal account to achieve virtual dominance.
As LeKool is listed as the publisher, special note should be made of LeKool’s TOS/EULA which have a significant impact on players. Lekool maintains a wacky PG13 net nanny system of monitors, both human and software based. The human portion are actually players in the game they are policing, the results are predictable and uneven application and enforcement of the TOS is standard operating proceedure. The chat censor filters, both global and personal, are laughable, but do prevent virtually all four letter words from appearing, the word “grape” for example is censored- so parents can feel good that their children will not be exposed to fruit while on the site.
One may question if this review is the opinion of one “disgruntled” player-and it is. Keeping in mind that I have completed all of the Quests, Growths, Upgrades and Promotions avialable over the past 18 months, I will submit that, “I love Caesary, Yes I Do.”
