Blacklight Retribution is a free to play, science fiction based futuristic MMOFPS title from popular publishers, Perfect World. The game includes many features typical to the FPS genre including various weapons and build-outs, various maps and game modes.

The game has many unique features, one of the more appealing ones is the HRV (Hyper Reality Visor) technology. Every player gets a HRV and can use it in game, when a player chooses to use their HRV they get a number of benefits. They can see through walls, which allows them to locate both friendly and enemy players which are displayed green and orange. As well as locating enemies through walls, players using the HRV can also locate weapon depots which host a number of interesting weapons. The final bonus to the HRV is the ability to locate a weak point on a Hardsuit, which can really help in a tough fight. The HRV does have a substantial cool-down but teams that communicate the usage of it get a massive advantage.

Blacklight Retributions other appealing features include the Hardsuit. This mech type robot is able to be controlled by players and uses some devastating weaponry. Players have to purchase a laser designator from a weapons depot, and then find the correct location to have the Hardsuit airdropped. Other players are able to steal the Hardsuit once it has been deployed so it must be used with caution. Once players have had it airdropped and got inside, they have access to a minigun and railgun, both of which are among the most powerful weapons in the game.

The game also has a weapon customization system that allows players to add unique attachments to their weapon that can help compliment their play-style.
