Aika Online is a 3D fantasy MMORPG with a fast paced gameplay and amazing graphics which makes it one of the most popular games in Korea. It greatly focuses on Realm vs. Realm PVP combat enabling battles with up to 1000 vs 1000 players. The game was developed by JoyImpact and published by Gala-net in 2010.
The character customization is not fantastic, but some options such as hairstyles and hair colors give the player the possibility to distinguish himself. Aika offers 6 classes, two melee, two ranged and two casters: warrior and paladins, rifleman and dual gunners, warlock and cleric. Unfortunately the classes which have unique attributes for PVE and PVP combat, are gender-locked.
The game offers a large variety of quests with a nice addition which makes them even more interesting:  in order to receive them the player must go through a scripted dialogue with the NPC without having the usual text containing a short job-description and quest-objectives.  And as a bonus, Aika offers well translated quests and dialogues combined with artful story-telling.
Players who want to engage in PVP combat can group up and sign up for a Battleground. Battlegrounds are organized by players who can choose the team size, time limit, game modes and the winning score line. Also players have two other PVP types:  Castle Siege and Nation Wars.
In Castle Siege battles, which are regularly scheduled, players must capture the enemy flag located in a castle. In Nation Wars, the five nations present in Aika battle for supremacy, trying to conquer territories, destroying guardian stones and pillaging national altars. The five nation battle for a relic which grants nation-wide buffs. This kind of battles keeps the players entertained, and the intricate system makes planning and strategizing a must.
Overall, for a free-to-play MMORPG, Aika stands out with amazing graphics, varied quests, beautiful effects and animations, and an impressive PVP system.
