1100AD is a browser-based MMORTS title developed and published by Amber Games, developers of popular old-school MMORPG titles such as Shard of Dreams and Dark Swords. The game requires no download and is free to play so players are able to dive into the action from almost anywhere.

Both sides have negative and positive bonuses so it's down to the players play-style, you're not forced to represent either side.

The Hero system is a large part of 1100AD, a Hero is a single unit that is able to learn devastating abilities and buffs, easily turning the tide of any battle. Players are able to recruit and train Heroes once they've built the appropriate building, you can then assign troops to your Heroes and march them off to battle.
