Following in the footsteps of City of Heroes, Champions Online and DC Universe, Super Hero Squad Online is a new free 2 play MMO (F2P) approach to the super hero MMO genre aimed specifically towards the younger spandex wearing audience. Featuring plenty of child friendly activities and great parental control options, Super Hero Squad Online hopes to appeal to the gamers of tomorrow.

Dr. Doom and his minions are trying to destroy the Marvel Universe and it's up to you and your squad to thwart their efforts but they're not alone, alongside Dr.Doom are some of the most iconic villains in Marvel history, including the likes of Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Magneto. A world full of villains would not be complete without the Heroes to put a stop to their destruction, the game gives you a great choice of playable characters including all your favourites from the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Hulk  and many other heroes from the Marvel Universe.

As well as the option of exploring the comic world of Marvel, you can even build your own S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters where you can purchase new rooms for your super hero HQ, equip each room with the latest technology and invite your friends to come and check out your pad. You can even build your own battle room and create hundreds of different objects just to blast them apart with the Super Hero of your choice!

New heroes are added frequently and there are plans to launch a new card based battle game (Similar to Marvel Top Trumps) that will allow you to find and purchase cards in game to battle with your friends and even beat Marvel Super Bosses to unlock rare cards, all with a unique 3D battle system.

Currently in open beta in NA, Super Hero Squad Online is currently unavailable to play in Europe.
