this is browser game !!!!!!!
Simple description: Hours of absolute boredom, punctuated by more hours of tremendous tedium.
You can alleviate some using real money. Of course, many of the game enhancements you can purchase are not ‘bought’ but rented for a few days.
For anyone considering getting into this game, don’t. It is “free-to-play”, however those who pay have a SIGNIFICANT advantage over free players. For example, buildings you can only have if you pay, huge combat/defence advatanges if you pay, etc.
Worse, if you have invested, as many have done, very heavily (talking hundreds to thousands, literally) you are in a worse position, as Good Game Empire is notorious for doing “updates” that are designed to extract more and more money from the players. One so called update resulted in the elimination of a strategy that many high level (and highly invested) players spend tons of money and time implementing, with no compensation whatsoever to those who had wasted the money to build, and had to spend the money again rebuilding!!
Terrible customer service, and almost no care for player experience if the alternative is financial gain. This game was great a year ago, it is now terrible, and many people are leaving it, including myself, who was an extremely high level and involved player.
Do yourself a favour and don’t even get started in this gong show.
Somehow I think the goodgame people are doing an internet blitz to drown out any sort of criticism of their game, and also make it harder to find alternatives. All the information I’m finding online definitely smells of a targeted PR campaign. Give me something grassroots.
This game has been around a long time and is played worldwide. I’ve played it free for about 6 months. It’s a game that requires perseverance and patience, just like most things in life.
Yes, GGE is designed to encourage people to pay money to get ahead more quickly or to gain a temporary advantage. It comes with built-in ads. That keeps the game free for everyone else. None-the-less, many people who play for free reach the highest levels and acquire equipment and buildings that most people pay for with real money.
Yes, people get bored with GGE, just like any other game or past time. GGE is free and has a large enough bevy of options to hold your interest for months or years. When it bores you; just move on.
GGE introduces a little more drama than some people (mostly kids and teens)can handle, so in a fit of rage, they may do rash things like spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars and publish rants or threats online. If that describes you, you probably need live supervision and shouldn’t play online games.
GGE is a well-designed, free, interactive strategy game that allows you the option of paying to gain a competitive advantage over other players.
