Created by Zynga (those guys who bought you FarmVille and Treasure Isle) CastleVille is a free to play online Facebook game. Get ready to become royalty in this exciting new kingdom simulator game!

You begin by picking your character, male or female. Your character is dressed in the traditional medieval wear you associate with castles. You then find yourself in a clearing in what appears to be a rundown forest clearing. Two people are being attacked by forest creatures and it is up to you to help them! Once seeing to them “beasties” you discover that you are now the proud owner of this land to build yourself a kingdom, and Yvette (whom you have just saved) is your first subject! Build her a house so she is safe from the creatures that lurk in the forest!

After getting that first quest out of the way, you’ll find many more things need doing to create yourself a perfect little kingdom! You need to chop wood and mine rocks to use for building houses. You can buy all sorts of animals such as chickens, horses, cows and sheep (just make sure you remember to feed them!). By completing quests you gain more experience to level up and unlock new items. You can expand your land by building up your castle; this also allows you to meet new people who have been stuck in the gloomy forest- who soon become your royal subjects.

You can add your friends on this game as neighbors and visit their kingdoms to help out. From doing this you get extra experience and good reputation. You use coins for currency and crowns for your castle and expansions in CastleVille, which you can also purchase with real cash if you run out. This game is currently an open beta accessible through Facebook.
