Land Of Chaos Online – Review
Land Of Chaos Online, also known as LOCO, is a free to play action RPG that combines various elements from a large variety of genres to offer players a unique free mmorpg game experience. The main core elements of Land Of Chaos Online combine MMORPG, Third Person Shooter and MMORTS mechanics to offer a game style similar to League of Legends and other popular MOBA titles but with far more depth and character progression. Here at XMMORPG our initial review on a game is based on the new player experience, activities, quests and mechanics that you’ll be exposed to as a first-time player. Read on for more information on what you can expect from one of the most unique sounding MMORPG games available online.
Similar to other MOBA like titles Land Of Chaos Online presents players with a multitude of playable characters, 26 in total. Every player is given a Permanent Hero Card once they create an account, this lets you unlock one specific hero for permanent use. You’re given the opportunity to make an educated decision thanks to a large amount of available information. Each Hero has 5 unique abilities, all of which are listed along with effects and other information during character creation, the game also shows the stats associated with the Hero as well a small biography. For the duration of this Land Of Chaos Online new player experience review I decided to go with Atin, mainly because he reminded me of Jin Kazuma from the Tekken titles, well that and he has a huge sword.
Unlike current MOBA titles, Land Of Chaos Online includes a real-time 3D environment where you can collect quests, socialize with other players and speak to various NPC characters. The community is highly active so it’s very easy to get group invitations to games, in my short time playing Land Of Chaos Online I had over 40 invitations to join a prearranged match.
The combat is the icing on the cake for Land Of Chaos Online, it’s easily the best combat system seen in a game that boasts MOBA features. You control your character using similar controls found in first-person shooting games, using W,A,S and D for directional movement while using the mouse to control your viewing direction. The main aspect of combat uses hack ‘n’ slash mechanics using the left mouse button to initiate basic attacks. Skills work in a similar way to traditional MMORPG games, using the number and F keys to activate abilities and spells.
Another nice feature of Land Of Chaos Online is the Achievements. There’s a massive list of available achievements for players to complete, with some being Hero specific while others are available to any Hero. Completinh achievements unlocks some nice rewards such as in-game currency and items. Some of the achievements are extremely difficult to obtain, such as the No Death achievement that requires a player to survive 66 matches without a single death, a feat accomplished by very few. There are also a number of simple achievements such as unlocking a certain Hero, completing a PvP game or killing a certain number of enemy players.
Overall, the new player experience provided by Land Of Chaos Online is one of the best I’ve ever reviewed. In all honesty, I have no idea why this game isn’t more popular than the likes of League of Legends. In my short play session the combat felt fluid, there was loads of fighting and enough individual items to create a massive variety of builds. This is a must play for any competitive gamers or people familiar with MMORPG and MOBA mechanics.
