Cryptic Announce Shard Merge For Neverwinter
Cryptic Studios today published a brand new developer post that explains the upcoming merge of all shards for the popular free MMORPG game, Neverwinter. Shards, the technical term for Worlds & Realms, are direct duplicates of the game world with its own selection of characters and guilds. Currently players are able to experience the content alongside other members of their shard, but they're unable to interact with players from other shards. The 3 main shards will soon be combined into one single shard, adding every single Neverwinter player into the exact same game world. This will increase the amount of people running dungeons, participating in PvP and selling items on the auction house. The developers have released a new Q&A post to alleviate any concerns the players may have. To highlight; you won't need to change your character name and all guild names were originally forced to be unique among all 3 shards. There really aren't any negatives to this smart move from Cryptic. For more information you can read the official blog here.Leave a comment
