Top 10 Free MMORPG Games
While there are many mmorpgs out here, not all people like the subscription models, so they play free mmorpgs. They are not exactly free because they all have shops that can offer you an advantage if you buy special items from there, but it’s not mandatory and in some, it’s not necessary at all if you know what you’re doing. Developers must get money someway in order to maintain the servers and the game, so that’s why we have these shops.
Below we made a list with the top 10 free mmorpgs we found for you guys. We will update this list from time to time, and some received or will receive detailed reviews. Click on the titles to open the game page for that specific game.
2010 has arrived and it’s been a few months since our latest update to this list. A few new games has arrived on the market and now we have a new Top 10:
1. Allods Online
Allods Online is a free to play massively multiplayer online role-playing game currently in development by Russian online game developer Astrum Nival. Based on the popular Allods series of games (known internationally as Rage of Mages) and featuring eight playable character classes, six races and an expansive and compelling world, it is set to win the hearts of gamers worldwide. The title’s unique setting features magical islands called allods that float in the living substance known as the Astral. With fierce player versus player and player versus environment combat plus epic battles between Astral ships, Allods Online offers a traditional fantasy MMORPG experience with a new science fiction twist.
2. DDO Unlimited
Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited (or DDO for short) is the only FREE to play premium Massively Multiplayer Online game (MMO) of its kind. Set in the vast and dangerous online world of Eberron, gamers discover hidden treasure, pummel monsters, and look to evade traps left behind by an ancient race. By leveraging the most active, most realistic combat system of any online game, DDO players deliver and feel every blow that goes into a baddie’s demise.
3. Runes of Magic
Runes of Magic is a fantasy MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game), in which words can create, but also destroy. Here you can explore and discover a magical world full of wonders and ancient riddles. Encounter arcane and dangerous creatures and solve the mystery of a long-perished kingdom. You have access to a dual class system which gives you the freedom to combine your main and secondary class, in order to build your character the way you want conceive it. Learn professions and special skills, to forge mighty armor and weaponry or to enhance them. Accumulate unique in-Game collector’s cards, which provide you with information and data of all creatures you have already encountered. Relax after a hard day of labor in your own house, which you can arrange just the way you want to.
4. Anarchy Online Classic
Anarchy Online Classic is one of the oldest mmorpg games on the market, one of those that offers you complete control over your character, and at the same time it’s somewhat more complex than your average mmorpg game, but after you master it, you might love it. It’s not very friendly but it’s a good experience. Offers interesting features from possibility to have a car, or even a small hover craft, random mission generator, if you want to use it, territory battles, tons of dungeons, and the basic features of p2p mmorpg, but well made.
5. Project Torque
Project Torque is an online racing game, I can’t call it a mmorpg since it’s based on lobby system, but an entertaining game. Having the possibility to race, compete with other players, win credits and buy new cars, and customize them, leads to a fun experience. Also the racing system is well designed. It really delivers the feeling that you are on the road racing for the number one spot.
6. Atlantica Online
A decent free mmorpg with a turn-based combat similar to the one in Final Fantasy series, good graphics, and good features, from pvp combat to something similar to the tome of knowledge in Warhammer Online.
7. BattleForge
BattleForge is the next step in compelling RTS gameplay by taking the battles completely online. With co-op play, challenging tournaments, Guilds, chat rooms and a robust marketplace for trading and buying your cards; BattleForge is the first RTS to add integral social and community components to an exciting fantasy RTS.
8. Navy Field
Navy Field is a Massively Multi Player Online Tactics Game. Based on naval combat during WWII, Navy Field is unique in its attention to detail.
Similar to Project Torque, Navy Field is based on lobby system so it’s not really massive, but fights within this lobbies system can go with over 40 players at the same time.
This game will attract fans of the naval battles of the WWII, where they can take control over massive warships from destroyers to battleships and have complete control over their equipment and crew.
9. Mabinogi
Step into the realm of living fantasy, Erinn, Mabinogi’s fantasy world based on Celtic mythology is brimming with fantastic opportunities and endless possibilities.
Mabinogi is a free mmorpg game that with its simplicity comes with many original and simple features, making the game very interesting to play. i wish it took less space to install runes of magic. i really wanna start playing that game to.
See most of these games I got and they are the best free mmorpg i played especially Allods and DDO! Runes of Magic is good especially with the duel classes system, and free realms is ok. I haven’t played the rest.
runes of magic is a wow copy, the only cool thing is dual class system (2 classes at a time on one char) but it becomes annyoing as you have to level each class separately. other than that, a lame arsed copy of wow
YES MABI~! Mabi is the shitt All the other games are so typical with all the classes and such but mabi is different: you dont get a designated class so oyu ca do everyhting wit time. And i swear you can customize everyhitng right down to the colour of your swords hilt. It is the best MMO i have EVER played and i never go a week with out it.
i think rom is awesome and makes wow look like a crap cheap game.Runes of Magic perfected the duel class feature in my opinion.
Yea its a ripoff of WoW…..so what its free and its a ripoff why not play it….not that i play runes of magic myself i did so happen to play it for 2 months thogh…i liked the game it was a little new for me ide at least give this game a chance before judging it.
Atlantica online I would give that game a thumbs up on the turn base fighting mechanic its another game i would say give it a shot also.
DDO i enjoyed that game alot for the longest time, If you have played Dungeons and Dragons on paperback you’ll like how they’ve set the game up.
Free realms….hell its a ripoff of Runescape personally….and if you’ve played runescape you know finding a ripoff for it has to be the worst thing you could find lol
Mabinogi I dont even want to waste my time testing this game out….tell me if its any good….in detail please so i dont get this ok….its good…or, You should just try it and see for yourself. No i want detail on the mechanics of the game not just this opinion crap
Mabinogi gets so boring after a while, I’ll admit, the customization is quite the thrill. Along with the graphic, combat system is okay, but the overall gameplay is just complete dungeon runs. There’s a limit to this game, and I don’t know, to me i don’t like dungeon running constantly, it’s the only thing I usually do. I ended up quitting Mabinogi shortly, awaiting the newer version “Mabinogi: Heroes” or what the American name is “Vindictus” I bet that when it comes out it shall become the top MMO on the net. Hopefully no repetitive dungeon runs. *Yawns*
